Placebo Ballots: Stealing California From Bernie Using an Old GOP Trick

This is an article by Greg Palast whom I respect very much. I first became acquainted with him with his investigative reporting on the stealing of the 2000 Florida Election.

http://www.opednews.com/articles/Pla...60602-901.html

Quote:

Alert! California poll workers have been told to give all independent voters "provisional" ballots if they want to vote in Democratic Party. That's illegal -- and will insure that Sanders voters' ballots end up in the garbage, uncounted.

A special bulletin for California voters. And for the rest of you, how this same trickery -- shifting voters to provisional ballots which are rarely counted -- can steal the White House and Congress for the GOP in November.

Here's the 411. If you're registered as an independent voter in California, you have the right to vote in the Democratic Presidential Primary. Just ask for the ballot. But look out! Reports out of Orange County are that some poll workers have been told to give "No Party Preference" (NPP), independent voters, PROVISIONAL ballots as opposed to regular ballots.

Voter, BEWARE! Do NOT accept a PROVISIONAL BALLOT! They're really "Placebo Ballots" -- they give you the satisfaction of feeling like you've voted, without the inconvenience of anyone actually having to count them!

Bob, any comment since you are a volunteer poll worker for the Undemocratic Party? :)
Wonder if we can fool them by wearing Hillary buttons to the polling stations. ;)

I have been voting here since the 90s. Sounds like bullshit to me. Once again the OP uses dubious sources. Anything from the LA Times?

What's that got to do with anything?

And Greg Pallast doesn't bullshit.

From Wiki:
Quote:

Gregory Allyn "Greg" Palast (born June 26, 1952)[1] is a New York Times-bestselling author[2] and a freelance journalist for the BBC[3] as well as the British newspaper The Guardian.[4] His work frequently focuses on corporate malfeasance but has also been known to work with labor unions and consumer advocacy groups. Notably, he has claimed to have uncovered evidence that Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris, and Florida Elections Unit Chief Clay Roberts, along with the ChoicePoint corporation, rigged the ballots during the US Presidential Election of 2000 and again in 2004 when, he argued, the problems and machinations from 2000 continued, and that challenger John Kerry actually would have won if not for disproportional "spoilage" of Democratic votes.[5]
Besides every left leaning newspaper is in the tank for Hillary.

Several years I worked for the election in California (Alameda county) counting ballots and we counted every single one.

The provisional, the mailed in..... All of them.

Not sure how they do it in other counties, but that was my experience.

bobabode 06-02-2016 11:23 AM

Go look at the California SoS website for the real poop. http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/poli...ty-preference/

NPPs have a choice of DEM, LIB or AI crossover ballot. These are not provisional ballots.

But this time it's different. There are dark forces in the Democratic Party namely the DNC, leading an assault against Bernie in order to shove a rotten candidate named Hillary down our throats.

No different than any other election. People whose candidate is not winning always claim the system is rigged or ballots are not counted right or there is a conspiracy.....

ps this link explains what provisional ballots are and when they are issued.

pps Since someone asked about buttons. Just don't, please.

Displaying any candidate paraphernalia within 100 feet of a polling station is 'electioneering' and as such is illegal. You will be politely asked to remove it. If you refuse, we will call for a nice uniformed police officer to explain it to you.

Hillary has won more states. And more voters.

If we had a Congress like LBJ did I might have voted for Sanders.

Keep supporting Hillary Ice, you are simply flawed but human. If I was in your shoes, I may be supporting Hillary too. ;)

Just remember, one cannot rig an election and then claim to have won, unless your are a Kim, a Vlad................ :)

So if Bernie was winning the system would not be rigged?

Typical Hillary supporter: wasting time arguing about why a thing can't be done.:( Johnson's own Congressional majorities were incredibly hostile to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act of 1965, and the Civil Rights Act of 1968, yet he got them all passed. It's called leadership, something that Hillary has never been able to demonstrate.

Here you go, Bob. Believe it or not, your choice. We've had Clinton operatives mucking around in polling places and caucus rooms since the primaries began. We've had Senators taunting Sanders supporters from the podium and then claiming that they were in fear for their lives when they were booed in response. Quite a disgusting performance by the party establishment.

You are proving my point. LBJ HAD a Democratic Congress and look how hard it was.

Can't be done? Or shouldn't be done?

If Hillary has more states and more delegates should not democracy work?

I just refuted your point. Governing is hard, ice, but effective governance can overcome very stiff opposition. The New Deal is another case in point. When the electorate demands something, it's the job of a representative government to oppose the legislature if necessary. LBJ, FDR and even BHO did. That's my point.

Can't is what I'm saying. What points of Bernie's platform shouldn't be done and why?

That would depend on how she came by them.

I can assure you Ashley wasn't at my pollworker orientation class where the subject of NPP voting was extensively covered and covered correctly per the handbook.

That would depend on how she came by them.

They had friendly Congresses with majorities (Obama for just 2 years).

Just because Bernie's followers are demanding stuff does not mean that the democratic process should not be allowed to work. You have to win the nomination first, and then the general.

How did she get them is the Billion Dollar question.
It's a travesty to use Hillary and democracy in the same sentence. Everything she does is paid for handsomely. She should become partners with $ara Palin and go into lobbying.

Meh. An anecdotal story posted on YouTube is now prima facie evidence that NPPs are going to be issued provisional ballots?

My experience was completely different and the trainer provided the correct information.

I think you know the real answer there. If all primaries were open, Bernie would be murdering Clinton and would sail past Trump in the General with a national mandate and not just a partisan one (which is the best that Clinton can hope for). On the other hand, Clinton could easily lose to Trump in the General.

It's never about why Hillary should be elected is it? Know why? You are dealing with an empty pants suit with a famous 'has been' last name.

Wishful thinking.

If Bernie had a national mandate like you said he would be beating Clinton.
Plus if what you say is true then it is the fault of the so-called independents who did not know how to register as a Democrat.

Bernie could have run as an independent but then Democrats would have to have registered as independent to vote for him then. Sanders took advantage of the "rigged system" to help himself in that case right? There is a reason why he is a Democrat in the primary but not in the Senate: it helps him.

It is like Sanders is getting screwed by playing the same game with the same rules as Hillary, but Hillary is not legitimately winning for....whatever your reason is.

It is Trump or Hillary John. You are going to have to choose one of them.

It is an easy choice for me.

Bur only the nominees of the two major parties have a chance of winning. Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are symbolic votes at best.

As I said before, Washington is a closed shop.

True, but with the major party choices being Trump and Clinton, I'm expecting to see a whole lot of people opting for the symbolic protest vote. I know I will.
