Oh, I'm sorry.... I just saw this was posted somewhere else.

noonereal 03-28-2016 07:47 AM

freakin' lunatics

BlueStreak 03-28-2016 08:03 AM

More fear.

They don't seem to care about Quicken Loans Arenas constitutional right to control what happens on their own property.

Tom Joad 03-28-2016 08:29 AM

I signed the petition.

You all should too.

I think a big shootout at the GOP convention would be absolutely fucking awesome!:D

CarlV 03-28-2016 10:44 AM

It could be worth a year in jail to go in and fire off a couple rounds to watch those dumbasses go off like the morans they are. :)

With Trump calling for a revolution if he is not nominated, who in their right mind would want to attend the convention if a lot of the people are armed? Sounds more and more like a left wing hoax and a brilliant one at that. Time to sign that petition.

Rajoo 03-28-2016 11:51 AM

This is getting quite interesting and probably not the kind of attention that the GOP is looking for. More than 42,00 signatures already with a stated goal of 50,000 which seems like a slam dunk. Now how are the two leading candidates Trump and Cruz going to back off after comments like these?

Quote:

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), for example, suggested in December that gun-free zones attract killers.

"If you're a lunatic, ain't nothing better than having a bunch of targets you know that are going to be unarmed," he said.

A month later, Trump echoed that sentiment, saying he would end "gun-free zones" at schools and on military bases.

"You know what a gun-free zone is to sickos? That's bait!" he said in early January.
The best course of action seems to me to allow guns of all types at the GOP convention. Heck build a tent outside where the gun manufacturers can display their wares, an NRA booth, an open free bar for the convention revelers.

She's got a heckuva Adam's apple, though. ;)

Damn party poopers!
The Secret Service has nixed the idea of allowing guns at the GOP convention.

Now they can say Obama banned their guns!

And, they will. You can bet on that!

BlueStreak 03-29-2016 10:59 AM

I wonder how many of those "brave patriots" will fail to show up, now that they can't bring their security blankets with them.............

Pussies.

JCricket 03-29-2016 11:52 AM

The secret service did not have too. The fact that the arena is privately owned and the owners said no would have kaboshed people from entering with lead spitters. At least that is my understanding.

I am pro right to own guns, but no way in hell would I have gone to that with all those people caring guns. It would have been a shoot out for sure.

The arena owners could have succumbed to outside pressure and relented on their no-guns policy. Now they can't.

Rajoo 03-29-2016 01:07 PM

No guns in the arena, Trump's campaign manager facing charges for assault, the GOP convention looks to be going to be a civilized affair. How boring!

MrPots 03-29-2016 08:32 PM

I have to admit I'm disappointed.

I'd hoped the herd might be thinned a bit.....

barbara 03-29-2016 08:37 PM

There might not be any guns there but there will be plenty of crazy people there. 😉

Just like here.

sheltiedave 03-30-2016 10:58 AM

Just remember, people kill people. Guns don't kill people.

Now you bring guns into the Rep convention, this adage will be totally debunked.:D

Rajoo 03-30-2016 11:37 AM

It was reported yesterday that this was definitely a hoax perpetrated by an obscure left wing group, and I must say that it was indeed brilliant. Wish the Secret Service had run this a bit longer for the sake of continuing drama.

I didn't hear that but I did wonder about it. Pretty brilliant! (I hope the news that it was a hoax doesn't get much press.:D)

Boreas 03-30-2016 12:00 PM

The important question is whether the 24,000 signers knew they were participating in a hoax. My guess is not.

Also, as far as I can see, it's only being speculated that it was a hoax. So far, no firm conclusions.

This could be Republican damage control.

So, I still have hope. ;)

barbara 03-30-2016 01:11 PM

I had heard early on that it was satire. While I'm sure there were some supporters who thought it was the real deal, I'm guessing most knew otherwise.

Oh well, a nice thought while it lasted. :)

It's still not clear that it actually was a hoax and I really doubt that "most" signers suspected it was a hoax. I might buy the idea that a very large number of signers were perpetrating their own hoax though.
