From a pure popularity standpoint based on recent polls...Joe Biden. Joe has his gaffes...but I have a hard time identifying something Joe Biden has said that I disagree with.

Here's a reasonable list:

Although I would have thought Elizabeth Warren should have been on such a list...and near the top, actually.

Positive attributes do not win elections anymore IMO. It's the negatives and who can mount the most negative ads and who can survive the onslaught.
Then there is the question of who wants to put up with it.

I agree...however, I'm reluctant to blame politicians for the negative campaigning. The only reason why it works is because the ignorant and gullible American electorate is too busy pounding brews and watching football games to take a few minutes to understand any policy issues...so namecalling, fingerpointing, and chunk-spewing attack ads rule.

We get the government we deserve.

Rajoo 06-18-2014 11:20 AM

It is an insult to one's intelligence when swift boats and plumbing are the burning issues of the day. I did enjoy Palin for VP campaign. :)

I suggest that we get the kind of government the states below the Mason Dixon line foist upon us. What person(s) in their right mind would elect pea brains like Jeff Sessions or Lindsay Graham or turtleman

Sorry Rob...but I must disagree. Southern states are certainly a problem...but I'm not ready to excuse Minnesota for Bachmann, Ohio for Portman, Indiana for Coats, Iowa for Grassley, New Hampshire for Ayotte (ACK!), Pennsylvania for Toomey, and Wisconsin for Ryan, Walker and that idiot Ron Johnson...etc., etc. The same peaheads who would elect these.

It's way too soon. All you're measuring in polls now is name recognition.

Rajoo 06-18-2014 01:57 PM

I expect her book sales to spike once she starts campaigning and autographing her book. For now she is teasing the baggers and getting free publicity, even on Faux.

I believe, after all this time with all her ups and down over all these years...that there's much more to it than name recognition. The right-wingnuts can vilify her all day long, insult her and her daughter, and try to make an issue out of the over-running of the Benghazi CIA station, and still she remains the most popular politician, with the highest satisfaction ratings in the country.

MrPots 06-18-2014 02:19 PM

Listening to her town hall and fox interview, I think her time has come. She came across as polished and confident.

That's gotta scare the bejesus outta the republicans who can't find anything belter than mouth breathing, unibrow knuckle draggers for candidates.

Maybe if we sacrificed another 5 or 10,000 US lives in the middle east in more blood for oil fun they would like him better. :)

Common dude! She still has a track record with Obama when it comes to foreign policy. Hell, she's attempting to sell a book talking all about it.

Having a connection to the greatest President of our generation is a good thing.

Practically the entire GW Bush administration had a track record with Nixon. Didn't seem to hold them back.

If he's the greatest, why is he polling so poorly IYO?

So Latinos don't like black people anymore? Look at his support slipping even though he's letting people flood in over the border.

Yup. And they voted overwhelmingly for Obama. And as I've said before, unless we find a Democratic version of Rick Perry, whoever gets the nomination will be the next President.

It's gotten so bad that the GOP is considering running Romney again.

The Teapublicans can be counted on to half-witlessly repeat the same actions over and over, vainly hoping to finally get a different outcome.
Just look at the same neocon rogues gallery infesting the airwaves advocating for the re-invasion of Iraq and a Shock and Awe redux. Sick f*@k$.

Nice! Now you only need one more item to complete the collection. :D

Aww, c'mon Mike. You know the 'hoodwinked 'bagger nation was on the edge of their seats thinking Greta and Bret were going to rake your next president over the coals...but then Obie got that sumbitch in Benghazi and it let all the hot air out of their little nippleheads.

You can bank on it. :)
