Russia practices Crony Capitalism.

The dispute between the West and Russia is essentially between pro Russian oligarchs and pro Western oligarchs.

Any such conflict would be complicated. The NATO members I think would say we knew sooner or later he (Putin) would come for us so now that we know his strengths and weaknesses let's put him out of our misery and be done with it. The first thing to be done is go after anything Russia has on Ukraine territory. Then cripple his war machinery and agree to stop there if Russia agrees stay in Russia amd minds it's own business. I don't think there'd be a need for boots on the ground because nobody wants the headache of running the place

The best thing for the survival of their way of life is to stop fucking around with other countries and take care of their own house.

They own the most real estate of any country in the world.

I know a lot of it is frozen but it seems like they should be able to take advantage of that somehow, rather than taking land from other countries

The land they want produces grain and has access to deep water leading to markets.

This is all about Putin feeling that Russia was humiliated by the collapse of the USSR and his insistence that Russia is a great empire and feared world power, notwithstanding the fact that their its economy is a corrupt basket case producing nearly no value-added products other than second rate weapons for Third World customers.
