Whell started this thread to poke some of us in the eye based on a threat to Cruz, and his own party and a constituent (we know of ) hates him with a passion. Seems like now Whell is trying to elbow his way out of here.

When I read your post, I was reminded of Ammon Bundy and his standoff at an Oregon wildlife refuge. Here is an interesting item on him, now a gubernatorial candidate for ID.

BOISE — Idaho gubernatorial candidate and antigovernment activist Ammon Bundy on Thursday was fined $3,000 and sentenced to 10 days in jail for contempt of court.

Bundy was immediately handcuffed in Fourth District Court in Boise and taken to the Ada County Jail.

Judge Annie McDevitt ruled Bundy failed to perform 40 hours of community service following a 2020 trespassing conviction at the Idaho Statehouse.

Bundy argued his work for his campaign for governor counted toward the 40 hours of community service.

McDevitt disagreed, telling Bundy that he “took the time and effort to blatantly disrespect the court’s order, making a mockery of the sentence you received.”
