It does not appear to be a flintlock or muzzleloader but I'm not up to date
on gun identification. Weird how the smoke comes out of one side of the barrel
as well as the front. Even if it is black powder it would not do that unless the
barrel exploded right?

It's a Citori 12ga. (Japanese Browning). Good guns. I used to have a Citori 20ga. side-by-side that I liked a lot. My fave of all time, though, was a 12ga. field grade Beretta "Silver Snipe" O/U, mod/imp. Beautiful, easy gun.
I wondered about that jet of smoke out the side too. WTF? Maybe the vari-choke wasn't screwed in all the way?
I'm going back a long time on the Chinese shot shells, maybe 30 years. After I saw what it did to the bore and felt what it did to my shoulder
, I never used that shit again. As I remember, it used no shot cup and instead of a cushion between powder and shot (like there is on the shot cup) there was just a hard cardboard wad. Memory might be off here.
