And conversely, secular Israelis (a plurality) absolutely despise the ultra-orthodox Haredim in their midst.

I concur with the points you've made above, and elsewhere, regarding religion and politics. It's not hard to imagine Evangelicals and Southern Baptists believing that Trump is God's choice. Winning the election was pretty miraculous if you ask me. And I'm about as secular as it gets.
