Most shocking thing to me was a Republican state lawmaker is quoted as being embarrassed that this was even being considered. As well he should be, but there are few Republicans capable of embarrassment left.

I too left the GOP in ~2002 once it became clear that Dubya and Cheney took us to war under false pretenses, the ramifications of which we still feel today. That said, if the GOP then wasn't conservative enough for ya, it's pretty much an admission that you're at least a proto-fascist. Indeed if you still support Trump after J6, you're either a Fascist or a delusional fool (or both) and most certainly don't support democracy.
