What do you see on the Democratic side that compares to what you see from Trump or from any other Republican candidate?

Sorry if you feel one side is clearly better then the other, that is your prerogative. I see no difference between them. Until we clean house and get some folks in there who actually give a dam we are screwed..

It's not that I disagree with you, Grumpy, (but I do). It's that I don't know why you feel as you do. You offer nothing in the way of a reason for the way you feel.

I don't disagree with him at all, and I understand his reasoning perfectly. The problems are:
  1. There are too few that care
  2. Those that do care will never get the support to get into office.

The problem will not get fixed any time soon, in fact probably never if they try to start the fix at the federal level. Term limits might be a start, but there are enough crooks at that level and the wait list is so long it would probably just lead to more of the same. The only way I see any type of decent reform is if it starts at the state level at highest. Probably have to start more local than that.

That's a generalization and, like all generalizations, it isn't universally true.

In any case, Grumpy was clearly referring to the current crop of presidential hopefuls and, essentially saying they're all the same "sickening joke". Personally, that strikes me as the opinion of someone who hasn't taken the time or the trouble to examine the record, platform or history of any of the people involved.

I find it quite easy to be a bit disheartened by the current top two candidates from both parties.
