This guy won by 3,500 votes in a low voter turnout of 180,000 votes. He also has to defend his uber expensive congressional seat this November.

He is also the heir apparent and protégé of a long sitting deceased Republican porkmeister.
Why anyone would think this is a bellweather election is kidding themselves or possibly using Karl Rove's new math to make themselves feel better.

If ACA was implemented as written the voters would demand it abolished. Unions, businesses, privet citizen everybody would be against it.

Mid terms in recent times usually favor the Repugs. The turn out are normally low and the party with the most committed and hyped up voters does better.

A la Contract with America and Tea Baggers.

I grok but those were weird, hyped up semi-movements initiated in pure political desperation in support of a flailing ideology.

Basically, death rattles.

You think there's one more?

Yet, you sit here and call this forum a mouthpiece for the DNC? Give me a break man.... Thanks for the chuckle Dan.

The previous Repugnant held that seat for 43 years. I have to wonder how those percentages have shifted in recent memory?

Gotta love it when a reliably red state comes to their senses though in Presidential elections, like Florida, Ohio and several others. Did Michigan go for Romney?

1. "Independents" these days vote Republican.

2. The special election was called to replace a Republican.

3. The seat has been in Republican hands since 1983. (Catherine Harris held that seat for Christ's sake!)

4. The margin was less than 2%.

5. Turnout was very low, about half of that for the 2012 presidential election.

6. CATHERINE HARRIS HELD THAT SEAT, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!

John
