Anybody besides me had a gutfull of these goddamn people yet?
I call them the Scorpion Left - from the old tale of Scorpion and the Frog. Hopefully the 'Purity Brigades' won't be able to torpedo the next election.

Cool. I still think the idea of open primaries is insane. If a voter can't pry their stoner ass off their Pringle/Cheeto encrusted sofa and register as a Democrat in advance of the primary, they shouldn't have a say in who represents the party.

Open primaries encourage rodent fornication.

Agreed. However...

I don't think it's stoners who are the problem. Seems to me it's terminally miffed, terminally unique, Starbucks swilling millennials.

You've got a point. I have a canister full of Grandpa Kush on my nightstand but I still get my zoned out ass to the polls and support the Democratic nominee. The fools who bitched, moaned and carried Russian water after the convention can go pull a Bannon for all I care.

Almost 24% of California's registered voters are independent.
If only registered Democrats and Republicans can participate in the primaries, the two parties should pay for conducting the primaries, not my tax dollars.

The correct term is No Party Preference for the aforementioned 24%. The Democratic Party already lets them vote in our primary. The Teapubs and the Green Weenies don't. I'd say your beef is with them.

You could always join the batshit crazy American Independent Party. (grin)

Since there is an Independent Party in the US, NPP seems to be a legal distinction. 'Not Sheeple' is better description.

"Sheeple", eh? Thus the two ends of the horseshoe meet. The far left and far right use the same terminology and they both have the same piss yellow streak of authoritarianism running down their backs.
