In a lot of ways, this proposal codifies what has been long-standing practices there. Israeli Arabs have long since been second class citizens in their own land.

According to Wiki most Arab Israeli citizens refer to the 1948 war as the Nakba. Think about what that means.

I think the Nakba (Day of the Catastrophe) refers more to the refugees who fled or were expelled by the 1948 war (and their villages that were depopulated and destroyed) than it does the Arabs who stayed behind in Israel in places like Nazareth (still ~70% Arab).

I don't know exactly, the quote: "....most Arab citizens refer to it as the Nakba (catastrophe), ...."

It's just plain tough. Wonder what would happen to Israel if it was controlled by Arabs?
