Huntsman for Secretary of State?

I have not heard any one suggest this, but to my simple mind, it makes sense. Huntsman's service as ambassador to China did as much as anything to kill his chances to get the GOP nomination. That is worthy of some recognition. It also means that he has the diplomatic experience. He is smart. It would be a huge gesture of reaching across the aisle. He would have no concern with a confirmation battle. And it might eliminate him as a threat for the 2016 nomination.

Regards,

D-Ray

Interesting idea. In my opinion, he would be an excellent choice. It would also allow Obama to claim bipartisanship.

Good plan all around. Just would come down to what he thinks his chances are for 2016.

Would help Obama with the hands across the aisle deal. Or do the Atlee thing and bring Romney aboard. At a different time it might have happened. Didn't work to well for Chirchill in the end. Not that Obama need care about that.

Yes, already stated during the election. It got lost in the noise and thundering.

On the face of it it seems interesting.

10-4.

That's a tough job. The constant international travel must take a toll. Not to mention all the different languages and cultures and smells every day.

After four years I would certainly be ready to say enough! I want to smell BBQ and beer for a year and listen to Merle Haggard!

Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn sometimes.
