Maybe it's obvious, but I'm one of those people with a tin ear when it comes to music.
I don't know if you were referring to me WRT the Flamenco guitar but I did mention a player by the name of William "Paco" Strickland. I just found out a couple of days ago that he lost his battle with cancer. He will be missed in Wilmington, N.C.

Here is a link to his website. I think you can still purchase CDs there if you are interested.

They're working on making the stuff you're listening to old hat. A new CD in in the works that they will record "live" in the studio as opposed to separately recording their parts. I'm sure that there will be a little overdubbing, but I hope that it will capture some of the energy that they have in a show. I'll go hear them again in a couple of weeks.

Derek & the Dominoes - Layla & Other Love Songs

This one just hasn't waged well. There is some good work with the axe, but the shrill vocals are hard to take. Eric never had a great blues voice. It has ripened some with age, but it's still pedestrian when compared to so many real bluesmen.

Regards,

D-Ray

My opinion of Eric increased greatly after seeing him live in 2011 in San Diego....
I like his last album the best particularly the standards he covered on that one

I like his softer stuff like Road To Escondido with JJ Cale....
I have the vinyl of Layla and the SACD...I rarely play that album

Tull, again. I oughta dust off my Guild D4 and see how my shoulder likes it. Last time it took a couple vicodins and a stiff drink to be able to play. Don't ever, ever tear a rotator cuff...
