Can anyone explain to me the "2/3" of the cost of the ObamaCare plan already being payed by the taxpayer in the form of subsidies that will merely get shifted from <I think he said Medicare, Medicaid and the Large Insurance companies> to the new plan"? In his speech he said that we just need to come up with the remaining 1/3 and he's looking to tax the wealthiest for that.

What and where specifically does this 2/3 come from and what happens to the groups that receive this subsidy when it "dries up"?

Mike

Well if it dries up then the health insurance industry will no longer be able to subsidize congress critters to the tunr of $300 million I guess.

Many analysts are saying the recent rise in the markets is do to the American citizens putting the breaks on Obama's socialist agenda (stalling the health care bills). Apparently many investors see it as an "awakening" of sorts. I'm not smart enough about the market to have an opinion, but whatever is causing it, I'll take it.

Could somebody "splain" to me why the healthcare thing MUST be an "Either/Or" proposition ? In other words, WHY would people who are currently insured, have a GP who they're comfortable with, & have several "issues"-Diabetes, hi-blood pressure, etc have to give it all up & go into a "pool" of anonymous doctors who don't know their case & history ? I know there's no way I'd ever have gotten this bariatric surgery under ObamessiahCare- they'd simply let nature take its course, & let me croak w/another stroke or heart attack in short order...As it stands now, I feel like I've gotten a new lease on life-and MAY not check out in another year or so, which I think I would have done, had it not been for this...BTW, Lauriann & I went to see her folks in Cape Cod last 2 weeks-& I STILL managed to lose another 10-12 lbs on all that rich food-I'm down 120 lbs since Feb...

Well I haven't learned anything about healthcare but I did enjoy the cremation hijack. Best option I saw just now locally was $775. Not bad actually and I did enjoy perusing the premium urns. So stash a grand somewhere and all my obligations are now taken care of. Ah, life is sweet. Thanks guys!

Now back to your regularly scheduled obfuscation...

Because, most insurance plans won't cover it, it is fairly expensive surgery, most feel it is purely "cosmetic", I have cut down drastically on the meds I need, so the big drug cos. won't make as much moolah offa me, it would have been cheaper to have let me croak & spend the limited resources on some illegal lookin' to drop a few Bambinos...Erm, future Democratic voters...Plus, I'm a bigotted nasty old white guy w/way too many antisocial habits 'n' guns...Oughta be gotten rid of, anyway...

Lol, but seriously I would suggest that you find out if indeed it is covered as I am sure you feel it is a valuable medical procedure as I do. If it is indeed not covered I believe you have a very valid point.
