It did make me uncomfortable, I felt somewhat disrespected being put in an awkward situation by someone I consider a friend, rather than an adversary.

Curious: Not saying you would, but...
Do you think he should have felt uncomfortable or disrespected if, at some point, you had shown up with a "Me Too" pin or button? Or a "Feel the Bern" shirt or hat?

Why should he think a "me too" logo offensive?
We have discussed Bernie, he knows I didn't support his candidacy.
Otherwise, I wouldn't put him in a defensive posture in spite of his tendency to get some of his misinformation from purveyors of conspiracy nonsense, i.e, birtherism, etc.

Those buttons don't represent bigotry, racism and white nationalism, dimwit.

A pretty good chart.
https://www.adfontesmedia.com
Faux "News" and its fake news brethren are, of course, way down and to the right: "Nonsense damaging to public discourse". NYT, WaPo, PBS and the other best sources are nearly center and high up.
So which sources does our president* rely on the most?

He is one of two friends, one I've known for decades, that subscribe to racist conspiracy theory nonsense. The discomfort it generates makes things awkward at times, but I try to be the voice of reason that penetrates the echo chamber bubble in which they normally dwell. It's bearable because it is not a constant onslaught to counter in my daily personal life.

Obama sure looks great in his "44" jacket. TrumPutin, in contrast, will never, ever be remotely cool.

No idea, but the microphone transceiver on her backside is a pretty good tell. Probably the local TV sports babe.

Here's a guy exposing fake news to the purveyor Tucker Carlson. Tuck looses his shit completely! And--surprise, surprise--this never made it to air on Fox....
