Eye for an eye for Sheriff Joe naturally sounds good--but it's also implicitly says it's OK to be cruel to someone 'if they deserve it.'
138-degree tents are cruelty, no matter who is in them. And cruelty is evil. Always.

Agreed.
The horror isn't that a monster like Arpaio exists. It's that he and his methods are immensely popular among a large segment of our society.

For the most part, the same people who support "enhanced interrogation." Feckin' Nazi-wannabees.

Not only cruel, but dangerous.
If someone dies of heat stroke in one Sheriff Joe should be facing murder charges.

We could just put snipers up in all the trees like you suggested for litterers, only for all crime. Explode their heads with the .50 cal and they'll never have to face the torture tents of Joe.

I'll decide which crimes deserve the .50 cal. solution, thank you very much.
That being said, DUI would make the cut.
So would most of the shenanigans that go on on Wall Street.

Funny how the people who complain about abusive law enforcement ("government thugs" ) the most are the same ones who celebrate excessive and callous methods of Sheriff Joe (a government official).
Another fine example of rightwing hypocrisy, anyone?

That's some expensive ammo. We could charge the families for the bullet.

Nah, I'm not that cruel.
We'll raise taxes on the rich to pay for those .50 caliber sniper rounds.
