ADS L710 Woofers

Here's a listing from eBay for one of these...if you check this guys list of auctions he has another one, for 10 bucks. When we were rebuilding my brother's L710's I tried re-foaming them (I've done hundreds of re-foams) and the voice coil clearance was so small that no matter how I shimmed or fiddled with it (and the cone paper is so thin it won't tolerate much fiddling) I just couldn't get them not to buzz...so we bought 4 woofers for about $30/ea plus shipping. That was a pretty good price from what I remember. Anyway, these look good and the price looks good as well if you could use them, or you know anybody who might...

I didn't post this on AK. I posted an eBay auction a while back on AK and got yelled at. Wrong forum, or you're not a paying member, or you can't do this, or some other crab-ass complaint. So I'm posting here if anybody's interested.

Thanks for the heads up Ike,that is a good Buy,I need to get some back up For My710's,Or for my clones I want to do.they pop up pretty often though,Yea I get yelled at to by the etiquite police over on AK,I think You can post on Dollars and sense though.Mine have the rubber so I should be ok ,Unless the chinese send me another amp cranked up To 100% LOL.

I've had speakers do the same thing before. One never knows until attempting the repair.

The surrounds are rubber on the L700's of mine. But needed to do a pair of CM6's that were rubber 6.5 drivers that someone used tire rubber cleaner on. Ate up the surround, hardened it up. They went great! Just had to find the right size surround. The foam fold was smaller closer to a 6" then 6.5".

I love my brother's L710's. An argument could be made that they are among the half dozen best speakers of their size ever produced. Argumemt could be made they're the best. Tweaksters and asperger guys at Stereophile and A-S notwithstanding.
