$26,000,000,000 to 6,600 families
This my dear cons is what you so ardently supported. Well you made this deam come true for these lucky folks.
God bless you because no thinking man will.
Most of these supporters are from the religious right.
What do you think Jesus would say about this?
You are not enjoying trickle down anything, you are being pissed on.
Please someone justify support of this.

There is plenty good reason for a progressive (vs. flat) tax structure. The question is how progressive it should be. It is now at an historic low - at least for recent decades (not gonna do the research) at a time when the wealth disparity in the nation is at nearly an all time high and the budget has been strained (broken?) by unfunded wars, unfunded mandates, an anticipated shift in demographics that no one wanted to face, and reckless spending coupled with reckless tax cuts. Just 'cause it is "their own money" doesn't make it right in a society that relies on people making a forced contribution through taxation, hopefully somehow adjusted to consider their ability to pay.
There are many (or at least some) in that top 0.1% who have gone on record stating that the extension of the temporary tax cuts is misguided. Many of those do make tremendous philanthropic contributions.
I'm amazed at the way some who are driven by greed (camouflaged as ideology) have managed to convince wide swaths of the American people that any efforts to restore a reasonable tax structure and a reasonable social services network is somehow anti-middle class, anti-american, anti-capatilsm, anti-christian, anti-whatever hot button. Any attempts to even discuss this stuff is met with epithets like "Socialist!" "Class Warfare!" "Special Interests!!!!" when really the class war is over and we all lost, there is no socialism but for damn sure it's looking like fascism, and the only interests that are being served are those of the corporatists and powerful who just want more and more and more. At some point the pendulum is going to swing - hard - and it ain't gonna be pretty.
Yeah, the Dems passed it. Bunch of cowards. Wish I lived in Vermont. They've got the only Senator that makes any sense.
Hit and run... as soon as Audio Karma is back on line I won't allow myself to get worked up over this stuff anymore. 'Course the big Margarita I just finished didn't help matters.

Yes those poor "persons" are just so picked on. Now the Supremes cut those persons loose to spend their millions to play kingmaker - as if they already didn't have enough people in congress doing their bidding.

So, I'm not the only one. Comforting. Time for another shot of Schnapps.
