Rob, you do realize that X-1000r is a piece of junk. Send it to me and I'll upgrade it for you, I'll have it back to you in a few years.

It had just been gone over, a gift from a satisfied customer. He also brought me two RT-707s and said see if you can make one good one out of them, so I did. The Teac 1230 was given to me about 8 years ago by a co-worker, no line cord so I put in a standard ISO 3-way connector and use a spare computer line cord. Three RTRs and all free.

Wow, some nice stuff!

I haven't done a significant upgrade in a long time.

Rotel something or the other midgrade TT (possible SME arm) with a Pickering XV-15,

Sony ES model cd player, not bad, upgraded by Doc Audio,

Luxman C-120a pre,

Soundwave (Belles) Symphony 4 amp (200 wpc dual mono mosfet),

Magic cables that sing by themselves,

Teledyne AR-9s.

These. (Large, Trapeziod cabinets for 15" woofer and "econowave" top end, as attached in "Poll" thread.)

Still waiting on the woofers to come from PE, they're very popular and on back order. Supposed to ship on Thursday. Also still working on crossover set-up. Thought about using the econowave crossover, but I don't have the money budgeted for the Selenium drivers. I've had a pair of Altec 808-8a laying around I want to use in the meanwhile. Not sure how well they'll work with the EW x-over.

Well, I have two full systems, one modern Vandersteen/McIntosh based high end, one vintage Luxman/Revox/ADS and one based on these speakers (Traps.) and a pair of vintage Akai tube monoblocks in the making. So.........

The high end system is spectacular. The instruments just float in space out in the room. I also use it for two channel home theater. (This was put together back in my house flipping days. More prosperous times.).

The vintage Luxman system is a beautiful sounding system, but the imaging and soundstage lacks compared to the newer system. (What do you expect? It's nearly forty years old.)

And, of course the DIY tube/horn system is still under construction. So I have no idea what it sounds like yet. I also rebuilt the amps.

I got something none of you guys have - a Merrylander refurbished Sansui G9000 DB. It's in my main rig, along with a Pioneer PL-41 turntable w/Denon DL-160, a Virtue Audio Piano M1 CD player, Infinity Primus speakers and a Dayton Titanic MkIII 10" sub.

At the workbench and exercise area - H/K 330C, Sony ES CD player, and Energy C100 speakers.

I have a couple of other smaller systems in other rooms as well. A Yamaha and a Technics receiver, some Polk, JBL and KLH bookshelf speakers, with assorted DVD players as a sources.

How do you like that Dayton Sub? Did you buy the kit or the assembled version?

I like it a lot. Very tuneful (it's not a one-note-wonder thumpbox). I bought it off CL already assembled for $200. The previous owner had bought it as a kit. From what I understand, it's dead simple to assemble.

Have the same sub, and you're right...even I could assemble it.

Only problem I've had was the plate amp died, not too sure it was ever 100% in the 1st place.

Replaced it with the OEM amp, thought about getting the one with the 3DB boost and I'm glad I didn't. It now fills the lower end of the Hornshoppes in nicely and isn't boomy at all.
