I don't have a problem with the photo ID requirement.
Everybody should have one. That's the way of the world today.
But I think the government has an obligation to make them free and easy to obtain.
What I do have a problem with is the requirement that the ID have your correct address. Poor people move a lot. A lot of times they are homeless or crashing on a friends couch. They still should be able to vote.
This Tuesday I'm going to try a little test when I go to vote. When they ask for my ID, I'm going to slap down my US passport. The US Passport is on the list of acceptable ID's for voting in Alabama. But it does not have your address on it. I wanna see how they handle that. If they refuse it I'll have my drivers license for back up but I'm not going to put that down until after I give them a ration of shit about turning down my passport.
