George Will opposed Trump before his election. Didn't help enough. He appeals to educated people with principles. How many of those are there in the Republican ranks these days? Sone generals and defense officials, some in the other agencies, but increasingly purged from the top ranks. The generals are going to be important, but remember that coups are typically led by colonels.

Now with the national unemployment rate projected to hit or exceed 20 percent, the highest number since the Great Depression, a growing number of GOP senators say the federal government should continue to augment weekly unemployment benefits in some form — though most want it lower than the $600 figure.

GOP senators fear that the wave of protests, riots and other forms of social unrest that has rocked major cities around the country is linked to the bleak economic picture and that their majority is on the line.

Let us hope their ill-gained majority is "on the line". Let us hope that all their gerrymandering, voter suppression, race-baiting and avoidance of the obvious will end in early November. With Donny and Billy sending heavily armed prison riot police against peaceful protestors, and targeting anti-fascists instead of nazis, though, I fear the worst.

That last part, that might just be the thing that does them in. Of course with an election loss Donnie is sure to blame aforementioned anti-fascists, refuse to accept the results and have Billy find proof.
