This issue will never be resolved until Israel and the Palestinians decide how to live together. Right now they have chosen to die together.

Some of us hold that Israeli Jews have chosen not to die at all. And since they're Jews, most Christians do not go along with Israeli Jews having a right to exist.

By the end of WWII European Christians, had had it with Jews. They had had it before WWII but the war did it for them. European Christians decided the easiest way to get rid of the problem was to cooperate with Zionists and establish a homeland on the dirt that most Jews saw as their historic homeland. Israel was arranged by European Christians.

Could the homeland have been set up anywhere else? Of course it could. Why not give the Jews a homeland in a corner of Germany. Give them 25% of Germany. Seems like ultimate justice to me.

But I am not surprised that European Christians decided to go ahead an plop down what was left of European Jews right in the middle of the only people on earth who hate Jews more than European Christians. Let somebody else do their genocide for them.

What they didn't plan on was Israelis being willing and able to defend themselves more effectively than most of Christian Europe had been able to under the onslaught of Nazi Germany.

The history of the creation of Israel from the horror and guilt of WWII by the Western Nations along with the history of colonialism. Is still effecting the world today.

Would there be a difference if Israel treated the Palestinians as equals? One ponders just how the Israelis justify the continued treatment of and expansion into Palestinian held lands. The Israelis have every right to a country, so do the Palestinians.

The path they are on now seems to be one of annihilation total destruction of the other.

And in 1877 the South finally won the Civil War. Did Sherman's cruelty contribute to their eventual victory, and to the continued growth and vigor of Confederate culture to this very day?

I do not think Sherman's cruelty or lack thereof would make a difference. The South had been infected with actual slavery and the experience was the overriding determinant.

Israel has ordered the siege of Gaza strip. That should do it. Can't blame them either since neither side wants peace.

Unfortunately the MIA Republican House is anxious to arm the Israelis while busy electing a new Speaker.
