Since pragmatism trumps idealism and OEF did not endure, why not? Besides charity begins at home and best if Iran and Saudi Arabia settle their differences as long as we get to sell them weapons. That's a win, win.

OIF was an idealistic war made much easier because we hated Saddam. We have the Papa Bush administration to thank for this hate. Nationalistically speaking, OEF was a righteous endeavor. ymmv

It occurs to me that republicans seem to view black, Mexican, LGBT, Muslims and poor people in the same light as Nazi Germans once viewed Jewish people. We must be vigilant that it goes no further.

They've got their finger in the wind. Trump has shown them that even the crazies have lost their appetite for war. Short of another "Pearl Harbor type event", they wouldn't dare.
