Social conservatives hurt Mitt.

Mitt lost badly in 3 states to Rick. Now that the economy is becoming little fav to the Pres, social conservatives have once again found their voice and exposes how thin Mitt is on issues important to them.

Well, Mitt has lots of cash. I guess he now has to spend some on Rick.

I think the GOP misreads the public's fealty to social issues nowadays. The anti-gay, anti-abortion crowd is a loud but distinct minority. The majority (and certainly young voters) wish they would butt out on these issues. I think the GOP still plays these issues because their "Southern Strategy" (appealing to racial prejudice) is decidedly uncool nowadays (in the whole). It still remains (barely) socially acceptable in many parts of the country (mostly the South and parts of the Midwest) to rail against gays and abortion. This too shall pass as today's youth get older and more politically influential.
