That little bastard was always stealing the scene.

Danny Deckchair (2003), an Aussie movie that I really enjoyed.

Went to see Love & Mercy, the Brian Wilson biopic. Pretty well done. I had to put on Pet Sounds when we got home.
Regards,

The "Beach Boys" played here at the Sonoma-Marin Fair, 3 blocks away, last Thursday night. I coulda walked there and paid $5.00 (senior) admission but, somehow, that group didn't wear well with me.
I did see War there the year before last and that was good. Very good and very close to the original, even though Lonnie Jordan was the only founding member left.

I had a client one time who was a professional dominatrix at a place here in Chicago called "Illusions" that everybody referred to as "The Dungeon." Her stories painted a way, way more disturbing, and interesting picture than this thing.

I had the displeasure of going to see that piece of s**t at the behest of a now ex-girlfriend who showed up for the date drunk and then passed out on me halfway through the movie.
Your assessment of the film is spot on.

Check out Pandora's Promise if it's still on Netflix. Interesting documentary on nuclear energy.

Recently (in the course of a couple of weeks) I watched Apocalypse Now for the umpteenth time, reread Conrad's Heart of Darkness, then sat through Apocalypse Now once again for a fresh comparison.
The exercise of noting the comparisons and contrasts was enjoyable, but for the next couple of days I was left with little regard for the human species and would have been unmoved if a sudden plague threatened to return us all to the mud from whence we crawled.
I eventually pulled out my Calvin and Hobbes collection to snap me out of it.
