The Dotard publicly criticized her son Jeb as a "momma's boy" when the ever-dignified and respected Barbara Bush joined her son on the campaign trail. She had more class and dignity in a clipped fingernail than the Dotard has in his entire being.

Comparisons are inescapable. As inept as GB Jr may have appeared, he was never crass or cruelly vindictive. She ensured a certain level of ethical behavior that is totally absent with the present administration.

Did I miss something? AFAIK nobody is dissing Barbara Bush in this thread.

I do not know what the protocol is for the First families but would be heartened and my respect for the Bush family go up significantly if the Dotard was not invited.

Thank you for letting me know. Though not a political fan of the Bushes (Bush Sr. was OK), I have always respected them for their class and service to our country.
