My boat fits in an old duffle bag! Old red & black Achilles 9 footer.

I have since revised my definition of going back to nature to include a powerboat and and at least a seedy fishing cabin with a full kitchenette, air conditioning, with a lighted dock.
And a likker store within 20 miles. I learned the hard way.

Your probably thinking of Mammoth Springs that forms the Spring river. It is in NE Arkansas. Great trout and walleye fishing. I went there last year about this time. The problem is I pass about four places that have better trout fishing on the drive over there. It is one massive spring though.

Speaking of pirate ships, I heard a story over the weekend that the Exxon Valdes has recently been sold for scrap.

Is it the 2 person "splash-yak" self-bailer, shaped like a canoe?
I've had one for many years.
Grew up canoeing the Current and Black and Courtois and upper Meramac. Then I moved to California and the rivers are a little too wild for a canoe, so got the Achilles.

I'd heard that too. But, I couldn't care less about the Valdez.
I've also heard that the USS Constellation is scheduled for scrapping, or already has been, I forget which one. That would be both of my ships---Gone.

Actually, it's Valdez, with a Z.
Not that it matters for the ship, but we still have a town up here by that name. If you prefer the slang term, locals call it Val-disease

I don't know all that much about the life cycle of ships, but it sounds like the ship formerly known as the Valdez had about as much wear and tear as Newt Gingrich's wedding vows.

And leaked the polluting nature of it's slimey contents in front of the whole world, as he has, as well.

You were on both of those ships? That's very cool.
I saw the Connie a couple of summers ago in Bremerton, WA. I want to say she was sitting next to Independence and Ranger?
