Turned the TV on today

And, I'm glad I did. Caught the second half of the OU basketball game.

This is kinda related to politics. The game was a great example of work ethic. A kid, who woke up in the morning throwing up, ended up having the best game of his career. Because of injuries to other players, he had to play out of position as a 6'5" power forward. He ended up with his first career double double - 16 pts. 11 reb. He played all but about 3 minutes of the game looking pretty pale. Not many days I have gone to work when I wake up selling Buicks. I even remember working with a kid once who borrowed some skoal just so he could throw up and go home sick.

Maybe this type of effort from a young athlete leaves some hope for the upcoming generation? Maybe I'm making too much of it and just looking for an excuse to brag on my Sooners.

Regards,

D-Ray

Loving what you do and caring for your mates. Can't do much better than that.

No doubt. Course, I like to believe that we sent a decent pair of kids to KU.

If there are any short comings in the upcoming generation it is our fault.
BTW, I am damn happy with the up coming generation.

It's the up-coming generation that sold me on Obama. When I saw the way he had energized young people - actually motivated them to get involved - I quit worrying about the lack of a national vetting, etc.

Every time I start to thinking these young kids are morons, I notice how "unlike" my generation they are. And I hate to admit it, but in many ways, I'm happy to see that. My generation just seems to be so full of old baggage that needs to go away.

This is one of the things that helps me to maintain a degree of optimism.

When I was a junior in college, I was a dope-smoking foo' who was gonna take five years to get a degree in political science. My junior is taking four years to get a degree in physics. My younger one (the one who made a few bad choices) is on course to take four years to get a degree to teach science or become a cop. Which generation is making progress?

D-Ray

I don't think they are morons. Just full of even more greed and non caring about anything other then themselves, then my generation.

Guess I shouldnt lump em all together like that but working in our local schools from time to time is pretty disheartening..
