This is clearly an attack on the right to personal and religious expression. It's no different from a law that would ban the wearing of a yarmulke, a tilaka or a crucifix.

I never seen a kippa or cross covering up ones entire face.

Yeah, it's a cinch to hide an RPG or an AK under a veil!

Has zero to do with hiding weapons underneath. Sorry but your points are not even close to being valid imo.

Underneath what, a veil or a scarf? What about a loose fitting non-sectarian dress or coat? Now, there you could hide something but that won't be illegal.

Actually, as the underwear bomber showed, it's possible to hide major amounts of explosives pretty much anywhere on your person, regardless of clothing. Heck, there was a recent attempt on a Saudi prince where the bomber put the explosives up his ass. Even if he'd been buck naked the explosives would have been invisible.

Face it, Grumpy. This is just pure religious bigotry like the ban on minarets in Switzerland.

+1. Not only is it an attack on personal/religious expression, imposing this ban would likely be counterproductive. It would probably help radicalize some who would otherwise not have become radicalized. Also, it would end up effectively banning religiously observant Muslim women from going outdoors. The French need to get a grip on their immigration policy. They have 5 million Muslims in their country. Did they really think all these folks were going to start promenading down the Champs Elysee wearing the latest in Parisian fashion.
