I think he's on to something. I believe anything short of a single payer system is simply rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

from the article," Unfortunately, the president's plan, as it currently stands, leaves patients financially vulnerable to insurance companies. It requires all Americans to buy private health insurance policies, while failing to ensure those policies do what they are supposed to do -- protect people from financial catastrophe caused by injury or illness."

This is the only way any bill gets through Congress. Corps first, Poloticians second and society dead last.

Kucinich does get it. I've been aware of HR 676 for a while. The trouble is he can't even get it introduced. It's "off the table".

I surely hope that no one thinks for a minute that I would oppose a single payer plan. Besides the man in my avatar would turn over in his grave.

BTW, I happen to agree with Rep. Kucinich on this one.

if this whole 'healthcare' charade isn't enough to clearly and decisively demonstrate to the citizenry the complete disconnect between them and their 'elected leaders'; then i don't know what it will take to motivate the necessary response by that citizenry to the frauds which have been perpetrated upon them.
alas, however, my real concern is that the 'citizenry' is simply not worth better than what they've got, or things would never have come to what we see now.

Kucinich is going to vote for the bill. He "gets" political necessity too.
