We saw The Imitation Game last weekend. I liked it a lot better before I read how historically inaccurate it was. Oh well, probably hard to sell tickets to an historical drama without a bit of artistic license. Actually, it is pretty clear during the movie that things were compressed for the purpose of presentation. Stuff like this always brings me back to a Kurt Vonnegut comment. He said that he prefers fiction to commentary, because he feels he can do a better job of communicating truth through fiction.

We just watched it this evening. It's a great film. Benedict Cumberbatch was spectacular as Alan Turing. And it's another infuriating reminder of why religion is so despicable.

The movie was written by Clooney and Grant Heslov (both of whom also have acting roles in the film) and portrays the conflict between veteran radio and television journalist Edward R. Strathairn is a really good actor who has worked a lot with John Sayles.

Good movie. Been to that area? One of the toughest places in all of Appalachia. I spend a week there looking at a bunch of flood control projects. Scary.
