It's probably a safe bet that LESS legislation equals LESS unemployment, but we are unlikely to return to a point where we have less legislation, so we'll just have to get used to it.

Also, it's ridiculous that everybody always bitches about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. What in the world do thinks happens to the poor when the rich get poorer?
You need to pick up a copy of "Make it in America" the author, Leveris is CEO of Dow Chemical and he argues that the free market system is outdated and if we keep following it we will be penniless bystanders in the next decade.

China and India offer big subsidies and cheap wages to lure manufacturing away and where manufacturing goes so goes innovation. You innovate by building something, then make it better. Well if we are not making anything we will have trouble making it better. Kind of blows holes in the argument that government action is protectionism. He argues for more government action.

To say a roller coaster economy is inevitable goes hand in hand with the saying that doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome is the first sign of insanity.
