Don't think I'll be going anywhere on our meager savings and Social Security checks, Alan. Maybe I could find a patron in the tropics who enjoys top shelf cannabis. Evidently I have a green thump or two...
Anybody in Negril or the Santa Marta's in Columbia need a couple of opinionated old hippies to sponsor? Killer sound system, will travel!

Have you ever seen Terry Zwigoff's documentary "Crumb"? It's all about underground comix pioneer cartoonist Robert Crumb (and his wacky family). The focus is about Crumb and his family during the period of time just before they permanently left the country for France. It's a fabulous, and occasionally disturbing film...one of my favorites. Particularly memorable were the scenes with his brother Charles and his brother
The only way Crumb was able to afford it at the time, was by selling a half dozen of his library of sketchbooks, which he had saved throughout his career. It was a monumental trade off for him, but clearly worth it. So that's how Crumb financed it. This was back in 1991...eight years of Reagan and his insight into how the country was shifting to a corporate controlled state was what it took for him.
"Why would anybody walk around with advertising on their hat or their t-shirt?" - R. Crumb

Interesting to note that Gaetz is sending feelers to House Dems to help him oust McCarthy. This is getting to be a personal vendetta and the Dems are playing cool while not sure which way to turn.
McCarthy and Gaetz are so much alike, Gaetz will never be elected speaker and McCarthy will never be reelected speaker. McCarthy is also like a Flea Market owner, none of his wares are any good and it changes every day. A scumbag just like Gaetz, both empty suits.
Of course the Dems can help McCarthy avoid a shutdown and save his speakership if McCarthy plays ball, but chances are he will be unwilling to pay the price, stick to the deal he made with President Biden and end the impeachment charade.

GOP...spinless...
Once again the very ones with the loudest voices and finger's pointing. Blaming everyone else for their very shortcomings. Proven signs of the very weak and scared!
Shows again and again why the strongman bully type easily controls to them. The ones who talk tough usually are the total opposite have found in these many years. Cower away kissing @ss sucking up to the bully who will let them be....

Well...90 of the 221 Republicans in the US House voted against the bill...which means 131 of the GOP caucus crossed Trump and the Freedom Caucus assholes and supported the bill. Was it just that they were the lesser vote whores who wouldn't allow all the really problematic things that would happen as a result of a default? Or is it possible that the anti-democracy Republican radicals are not the force that they think they are?

Hope this is the fever breaking. Doubt it very much it is so. The 90 to a one will still be supporting Trump for President.

Trump ordered his minions to default on our debt.
They couldn’t.
He wanted them to impeach Biden.
They couldn’t even put it to a vote & the “inquiry” hearing was a bad joke.
He wanted them to shutdown the government.
They’re tearing each other apart on TV instead.
Trouble in MAGA paradise ... and Trump's fraud trial starts tomorrow.

After two impeachments of Trump, apparently the MAGA House changed the voting rules, but have not been able to find out the details. Perhaps not a simple majority anymore?
Trump coming up empty again and now the financial fraud trial starting, the MAGA sail has been punched full of holes.
Gaetz will certainly try to oust McCarthy tomorrow and that should be yet another clown show.
