Nevada's bridge to nowhere

My sister sent me this story, it is priceless. What is it with these frugal goppers?

I guess even Nevada GOPers haven't seen a fund meant for other projects that they didn't want to grab and exploit for a bit of grandstanding and preening. Nice bridge at 1700 feet.
