Good Reason to Egg On the Tea Party Folks

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/delaw...ry?id=11627467

I thought you guys might need a reason to start cheering for the Tea Party bunch. In an election cycle where some might believe Democrat incumbents vulnerable, Tea Party candidates might deliver any number of potentially "weaker" (less experienced, less well organized, less well funded) Repub candidates to run against Dem incumbents.

Yep. It's all about ideological purity, Tea Party style. The nuttier, the better.

My only concern about tea party candidates is that before 1980, I never thought Ronald Reagan could win the presidency as he was way out on the edge with his politics. Unfortunately the edge has moved since 1980 to the extent where I wonder whether St. Ronnie would satisfy those folks. If incredulity becomes reality, I wonder what damage the tea partiers could do.

Regards,

D-Ray

And another. Rick Lazio - he now infamous for approaching Ms Clinton's podium during the 2000 Senate debate - might have a tough fight on his hands with a Tea Party Candidate in the NY primary for the Governor's office.

I gotta admit, that provides some comic relief, hearing the forecasts of gloom and doom by the GOP establishment. They opened Pandora's box of tea, and they might not be able to get it closed.

MoveOn et al did the same to the Dems, pulled them left, at least in campaign rhetoric if not in action.

It really is all about Obama. If he's unpopular you don't need the strongest candidates (admittedly though you still can't have giant gaff machines, 'cept as vice pres ).

All true, Pete.

But, I still don't understand the absolute hatred of the man, though. I'll be honest, he hasn't exactly turned out to be my favorite president-----so far, but so many people just seem to utterly despise him. And started hating him the minute he received the nomination. Sorry, but that bothers me, it truly does.

I believe that many on the left side of the aisle truly hated George W. Still do. You can see it in the rhetoric, the books, the articles, the not - so - well wishers who actually made public comments about hoping that something bad would happen to him personally.

I've heard and read about some of the nutcases that wish Obama harm. Still, its not as wide - spread as what developed under George W. Maybe its fermented under Bush just because he was around for 8 years, and Obama's not been around that long? Don't know.
