I enjoyed listening to some of this one this morning...
...although not anywhere near as much as I enjoyed it sitting 3rd row center of the first balcony at the Auditorium Theater on Friday night October 22, 1971. We dropped the red microdots, hopped in the Opel Kadett, and rolled down Lake Shore Dr. to see The New Riders of the Purple Sage with Garcia on pedal steel, and then the Dead.
A little triviality about this show. On October 19th the Dead played "One More Saturday Night" up at the U. of MN. for the first time. It had never been released on vinyl so the kids up there were the first people on earth to hear it. We were the second. Well actually the Thurs. night crowd was the 2nd and we were the 3rd. But anyway, nobody in the place, with the exception of travelers who had been at the Northrup Auditorium up there on Tuesday night and any returnees from Thursday night, had ever heard it before. The room went fucking nuts.
Sorry...I could not find a single youtube or other video anywhere on the web as a sample.

Its got everything, movies, books, music, and pretty much every Grateful Dead live concert, including this one from San Francisco's Harding Theater on November 7, 1971. Here's that page...

The 10/21 and 10/22/71 concerts at Chicago's Auditorium Theater are there as well. But oddly, "One More Saturday Night", from 10/22 is missing.

Just ran across the "Tiny Desk Concerts" from NPR. Listened to Sam Phillips, Kathy Griffin and Billy Bragg. The National is playing now.

Better through headphones than on laptop speakers. Actually, NPR has always had a knack for delivering good sound, insofar as sounds are a large part of their programming.
