My dentist friend took me for a ride in his black Nissan GT-R last fall. Pretty impressive for 100K. After the demo I read up a bunch about this thing. Whatever Nissan did with it, they did it almost perfect. They say it's almost impossible to spin the thing out on a road course. It's like stuck to the pavement. Which has caused some of the purists to complain that it's no fun to drive. "Uninvolving" is the term the road snobs who would prefer to spend 600 large, and more, on a supercar they can do battle with in the corners, and still loose to this "unpleasantly noisy" rice burner at the Nurburgring...every time.

I liked the shapely style of the '69 through the '70s.
That new one is ugly as shit.

I always wanted a tubbed 59 with a Big block topped with an old fuel injection system converted to EFI.

Except for that ugly Jimmy sticking out of that hole in the hood.
I always thought the pre '58 Corvettes were the prettiest.

I guess I need to amend my favorites to 1956-1962.
I like the pre-Stingray ones with that indentation thingy on the sides.
I never cared much for the Stingrays, but I do like the Beach Boys Song.

Had one, a 427/400 coupe in dark metallic green, black leather interior and factory side pipes.
Very cool looking car and pretty fast but, coming from European sports cars, the handling left me pretty unimpressed. I sold it and bought a '70 Lotus Elan S4.
Not mine but just like them.
