Other than attempting to Repeal Obamacare and partially succeeding to the detriment of their own base, passive massive tax cuts labelled 'middle class' which is anything but, what has the current congress actually done? Why no immigration reform? Fear of the Dotard and his Twittering. Lies and more lies is giving cover to the GOP from absolutely doing nothing.

So what is going on is authoritarianism and therein lies the fundamental problem and no amount of Obama deflection is going to make it go away. In a democracy, problems cannot be solved by edicts especially from someone who is as ill informed as the Dotard.

I forgot to add in the above post that the GOP is investigating the cops (FBI) instead of the crooks (Trump Inc.) and Hillary's emails to kill time while infrastructure, immigration and deficits languish.

Here is a very good explanation on the predicament that the Dotard and GOP are facing.

House Republicans see the numbers (the public and private ones). Four public polls were released on the subject over the last couple of days — from CBS News, CNN/SSRS, Ipsos/Daily Beast and Quinnipiac. And they all show big majorities, around two-thirds of Americans, disapproving of separating families at the border.

But there's a catch: they mostly show more Republicans approve than disapprove of the policy. That puts Republicans, especially those still facing primaries, in a predicament — break with the president and risk facing a tough challenge over a cultural issue that fires up the base, or agree with him and risk losing in a general election in swing districts, where moderate Republicans and independents, who disapprove of the policy, are key to their re-election.

So this is a Republican problem and is a Catch-22 for the party. Very good and it ain't going away unless they get honest with their base beginning with DACA. Not a chance. (where is the dancing banana )

You remember incorrectly (of course). Prosecutorial discretion was my argument in favor of DACA, not unaccompanied minors showing up at the border. Doubt that the Repubes will allow it to proceed. From what I’ve read, if the IRS and other federal agencies refuse to proceed with criminal investigations, it will go back to the NY AG, who can open criminal proceedings. Don the Con won’t be getting out of this one any time soon. Good.
