@2:05...Dan Auerbach won't have it. "You guys gotta act like you've been around girls before."
This crap goes on all the time, and its too bad more performers don't take control of it like Auerbach does here.

Hit the used music store for some CDs:
SOn Volt - Wide Swing Tremelo
SOn Volt - American Central Dust
North Mississippi Allstars - Shake Hands with Shorty
Wilco - A Ghost is Born
Led Zepplin - fourth (the one with the symbols)
Ben Harper and the Blind Boys of Alabama - Live at the Appollo
Listened to American Central Dust last night. Most of it was new to me. It is well written and performed. Jay Farrar's mellow voice, good harmonies, thoughtful lyrics.
It's hard to pay attention to Son Volt without comparing them to Wilco. There has certainly been a lot more transition in Wilco than Son Volt. There are many more miles between A.M and Sky Blue Sky than there are between Trace and American Central Dust. Son Volt's music sounds like it has stayed in the same neighborhood. Wilco has moved to another state. I like Son Volt's neighborhood, but Wilco has been an interesting journey.

D-Ray

That was easily his funkiest album with members of Little Feat and The Meters playing on it. I was a big fan of his back in the day and have all of his albums through Riptide, plus Clues. I saw him in Germany a couple of times as he was quite popular over there.

And produced by Allen Toussaint, as I recall. Personally, it's the only Robert Palmer album I like...... and I really like it.

Believe it or not, it was produced by Steve Smith (Journey's drummer, among other things). Toussaint did write several of the tracks though, including the title track.

You're right! My mistake.
I did a very little bit of research and found that the album was recorded in NOLA and The Bahamas. I can't verify it but I can't shake the idea that Toussaint had a lot to do with the album. It might be that the New Orleans sessions might have been at Sea Saint Studios which was owned by Toussaint.
