Well, not only did I admit fault there, but I openly apologized to the whole board- twice. Did it make anything stop? Hell no! It makes me wonder why I even try to reason with some of you folks. Seriously D, are you one of these guys that holds a grudge and will take any opportunity to attack me? Because it sure looks like that is the case. I thought we were all past that and here you go stirring the pot. Or is a differing point of view from the norm here just not welcome? A few of you guys have a real funny way of showing that you are open minded.

Son I stopped being open minded back in my fifties as I have yet to see anyone out there who can teach me how to suck eggs. In the past 32 years I became more convinced that there is no such a person.

And that right there is the problem Rob. You ARE always right. What's the point of even debating if you can't learn anything? Besides how would you even know that sucking eggs is not a likable thing if you don't try it.. I love eggs!

So do I when they are cooked.

The real problem is that I spent my formative yers, 52 of them in Canada. We come from two completely different backgrounds and I submit to you that IMO Canadians and Americans can never agree on politics, not in my lifetime in any case.

Maybe I am not being clear, or maybe as Churchill said "The Americans and the British, two friendly peoples separated by a common language."

Point one: I do not debate, there is no point in it. I simply state that which I know works or that which I know does not work.

Point two: I have had 82 years experience, not one year's 82 times. Since the Good Lord gave me two ears and two eyes and one mouth, I listen and observe twice as much as I speak.

Point three; He also gave me an elegant sufficiency of what Perot calls "The leetle grey cells" and any more would be a superfluity.

Point four: I have observed more outright paranoia and conspiracy fears here in PC that it might be nice if we had a resident psychiatrist.

Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for Rob and his experience in life. He obviously has done very well in life and I admire that. Just sayin'.

That was my point. One's record reflects on his credibility to make particular arguments. It is not a matter of holding a grudge. It's a matter of the short passage of time between such comments and the time at which the author of said comments stands in judgment of the manner in which others communicate. It's like someone who quit smoking last week lecturing others on the dangers of the evil weed, or someone who jumped on the wagon a few days ago suddenly crusading against the demon rum. Finally, it's the presumptuousness of one who has spent a few days here having determined the character of those who preceded him.

Context is valuable.
