The thistle and the blue & white "St. Andrew's Cross" flag? Do these exist on their own on British currency and postage?
While thinking about this, it dawned on me that the Union Jack doesn't incorporate any Welsh symbology, a white and green flag with a golden dragon "passant". This despite the fact that the British heir apparent is invested as the Prince of Wales. What's up with that?

You have a point there, Rob.

They'd also have to rename the Union Jack. Union Joe?

Nah, Union Jock! ("Jock" is a slightly derogatory nickname for a Scotsman, like "Mick" or "Paddy" for an Irishman.)

I thought about "Union Lucien" in honor of my Scottish grandfather, Lucien Read. But, it doesn't sound right.

I think the Scots will keep the flag the same since it would er, cost too much to change everything.
