The GOP congress critters must haver thought that an agency with "Peace Institute" in it's name would have to be one of them liberal groups that belongs on its budget hit list. According to a retired Marine General and Commander of the central command the peace institute is an essential part of the US security apparatus. The use of the budget process for the financial assasination of political enemies is no more productive than the use of a bulldozer to reduce spending.

Yeh, but "you will find the institute’s competent work behind practically every American success in Iraq and Afghanistan." That's a pretty short list of accomplishments.

If this statement is true, that's reason enough to zero out their budget.
