Hickenlooper is a good person. He won the mayor spot simply by going downtown and talking to folks. He got known. One of his campaing tricks was to walk the street and feed the parking meters so no one would get tickets. He seems to be very connected to the people. I hope he wins.
I have lived in Colorado almost my entire life. This state was predominantly republican. Over the last 20 years it has turn. I think were are going to emerge into a very stron democratic base over the next 10 years. I am hoping.

Sorry. I've been making some obtuse references lately.

Clever and me don't go together. You really got dumb things down for me - mostly anyways.

Here's an article that gives a little more background. The best stuff is at the end.

Oh, okay. Another one lying about past deeds and service. I was wondering if we had another gay Republican poking out of the GOPs increasingly crowded closet.

No, that's what we already know about and the GOP was okay with that. There's more stuff that we don't know yet that has the Republicans in a panic. The following does not refer to the lies about his undercover work which has been made public.
In a meeting Friday morning, party chairman Dick Wadhams and other members of the state GOP executive committee met with Maes to present what one called “damaging evidence” that hasn’t yet been made public but would further erode his standing as a candidate, according to the source.
A second Republican consultant confirmed the account and said while there was no explicit ultimatum presented by the chairman to Maes, the message was clear.
“It was: Do you really want to put your family through this? If you stay in the race, you’ll have to endure this and this,” said the Republican, citing potential reports by the Denver Post.
