That I doubt! Just today a out of town (Ohio) friend and big time T supporter informed me that we are winning with China. Jobs are coming back in record numbers, stock market is fantastic ....

So the message is failing to reach the base as of today.

The unintended consequences of threats, insults and trade wars.
Quote:
In the past few decades, Mexico has become a far more cooperative partner of Washington’s in fighting drug-trafficking, terror threats and illegal migration. But Mexican politicians have called for reducing bilateral cooperation if Trump militarizes the border.

Trump’s move comes as Mexico is in the midst of a hotly contested campaign for president. The leading candidate is Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, a center-left populist. On Wednesday he responded to Trump’s latest moves by declaring that “we will not accept the use of force, the militarization of the border.”

Mexico’s Senate on Wednesday unanimously approved a nonbinding resolution that urged the government to end cooperation with the United States on illegal immigration and drug trafficking because of Trump’s plans to deploy National Guard troops.

Ricardo Anaya, the presidential candidate for a left-right coalition, went further, calling on Mexico to curb its anti-terrorism cooperation until the Guard are withdrawn.

Trump is going to push the narrative: This is not a trade war. The US has lost that war long ago. This is a reset!

To irritate the Dotard and it worked.

How is the National Guard going to stop illegal crossings and/or, are they even equipped for this type of surveillance.

No to irritation...the caravan is a regular feature. Illegal immigration to US is big business in Mexico.

He is not the first to call on National Guard for this in recent times. At any rate it focuses attention on the problem.

China Is Studying Yuan Devaluation as a Tool in Trade Spat

The moron in chief is an expert at running businesses into bankruptcy. Now he and his pack of amateurs are going to bankrupt this country. Idiots like Whell cheer him on. He MUST be stopped. Midterm elections are our best hope, if Mueller doesn’t get him first.

The Chinese hold ~$1.2 trillion in US debt. They could flood the capital markets with $100-200 billion in US Treasuries and thereby increase interest rates on US debt obligations, costing us untold billions in increased costs for debt service.

Instead, the Chinese agree to cut tariffs on autos and, maybe even more critical, improve protections on intellectual property.
