Not my clown car but there was a lady named Cheney who has more cojones than anyone else on the right.
That said, they ought to give it to Boo Boo Boebert.

So Jordan had enough support in his conference to gain the nomination for speaker but...
Quote:
The House GOP conference selected Jordan on Friday as its latest speaker-designee in a 124-81 vote over GOP Rep. Austin Scott of Georgia – who made a surprise last-minute bid. Jordan gained only 25 supporters compared to Wednesday’s vote when Scalise defeated Jordan, 113-99.
Jordan then called a second vote asking members if they would support him on the floor, in an effort to see if that could shrink his opposition. That vote, which was cast by secret ballot, was 152-55... - CNN 10/13/23

There are 212 Democrats in the US House. If 5 Republicans don't vote for Jordan he will lose in a floor vote for speaker. And there are 55 Republicans who may be fine with Trump being their nominee, but who don't want an asshole like Jim Jordan to be their speaker.

The Repub speaker selection has come down to political differences within their own party and not easily solved. MAGA aligned members of course would love to have Gym be the speaker and they will spend rest of the term running interference for Trump while passing bills that will not be passed by the Senate or Biden. Intent here is to blame the Democrats and point fingers at them as the problem. But this will hurt their moderate members and all it takes is a handful of them saying no to block Gym.
If they get desperate, I still believe they will nominate Trump to score points with their base rather reach across the aisle because that could be a career ending move for a lot of them. But if five moderates can say FU to their colleagues and vote with the Dems, the problem would be solved in minutes. Oklahoma Rep. Kevin Hern seems to be a possibility and he is now being mentioned as a compromise candidate.

Gym Jordan’s remarkably thin legislative track record

Coming soon to HBO.....

""New George Clooney Documentary To Shine Light On Charges Rep. Jim Jordan Knew About Abuse At Ohio State University""
""An upcoming documentary about abuse at Ohio State — directed by and starring George Clooney for HBO — may draw more attention to the scandal and prompt more questions about Jordan’s involvement.
Though Jordan has repeatedly denied knowing about the allegations against Dr. Richard Strauss, who allegedly abused at least 177 male students at the university between 1979 and 1996, former wrestlers have claimed that Jordan was present when players spoke about Strauss, who died by suicide in 2005.""

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In the latest setback to Rep. Jim Jordan’s bid to be Speaker of the House, Rep. George Santos has declared the Ohio congressman’s identity “not worth stealing.”
Minutes after Jordan lost the first round of voting for Speaker, Santos took to the floor of the House and told his colleagues, “I would be embarrassed to use any credit card with Jim Jordan’s name on it.”
“Don’t get me wrong, I was no fan of Kevin McCarthy,” Santos went on. “But, when it came time to buy myself a new pair of Uggs, sure, I gave Kevin’s Amex a whirl.”
Jordan, Santos claimed, was “another story.”
“I would never in a million years steal Jim’s identity,” he said. “Pretending to be Jim Jordan, even for a minute, would leave me feeling unclean.”
