The GOP circular firing squad takes aim ...

... and Charles Krauthammer fires the first shot.

His take on the payroll tax cut debacle:

The GOP’s performance nicely reprises that scene in “Animal House” where the marching band turns into a blind alley and row after row of plumed morons plows into a brick wall, crumbling to the ground in an unceremonious heap.

With one difference: House Republicans are unplumed.

If only there were plumed.

Mitt would probably get a boost in the polls if he campaigned out of the Deathmobile.

Yeh, right. A trap in which 89/100 Senators fell. I suppose it's easier for a Conservative to claim that the House fell into a trap than to admit that the GOP has allowed the inmates to take over the asylum.
