All they're doing is showing that they have no capacity to govern, to their own detriment in 2016.

Maybe so.

The report said the honorable Senator was OK with ending mandatory handwashing, as long as restaurants posted signs saying they didn't require it.

The author pointed out that requiring signs would be regulation. But the Senator says he doesn't want regulation. So his position is irrational.

In fact, the Senator said he was BIASED against regulation. I note that bias is 'irrational dislike*' So it's to be expected that he'd be irrational in what he wants.


* I said 'irrational animus' before. A George Will moment, I guess....
