Torture the CIA & Report
Still reading what I can find on the report released today.
http://www.smh.com.au/world/cia-tort...09-123qu0.html
I side with the Democrat's in the Senate. In reality this is old news to those who have followed the events. But speaks volumes in making a statement and admit a great injustice.

I absolutely agree with the release of the report. The GOP (and CIA) seem to be saying, "We didn't torture. However, it did save lives." Now, they're saying don't release the report (whose inflammatory contents were mostly known already) because it will inflame Muslim emotions and possibly harm Americans. Lots of Americans were harmed by our illegitimate war in Iraq and Muslim emotions were already inflamed by the wars (and the torture that went with it), not some feckin' Senate report. Their opposition is strictly CYA.

Continuing a policy of "Do As Say, Not As I Do!" and thinking the rest of the world is blind plus stupid is what the Republicans expected. Show no respect and hurt out standing instead. I think some of the players are afraid that charges will follow.

Obama could really freak out conservatives by giving a Presidential pardon to Dubya, Cheney, Michael Hayden, et al.

And all we hear from those who would subvert the truth is that this information will anger the terrorists. Oh heavens Mildred...we don't wanna do that...they might behead somebody.

Gotta love Gee Dubya's speechwriter Mike Gerson moaning in the Post today about the release of this report.

That would be a stroke of genius, actually. He could have done it at the pardoning of "Cheese", the Turkey.

Except for the fact they would refuse it. They still feel the were doing nothing wrong.

It's simple. We were either the good guys or we weren't. We're either the good guys now, or we're not.
The party line is that it's over and if it happens now, it's because of an over-zealous individual who went out of control. Of course we never hear about any of those types getting caught out at it. Perhaps because it just never happens anymore.

""Extreme Recklessness"" From them???
How about starting a WAR on a LIE!! Killing thousands of our young and making a HUGE MESS out of Iraq. All because of OIL! Not to get the guilty for 911.
Jezz, the torture was all about feeling good and getting retribution.
