I don't know about Rice, but I have no doubt the Republicans would be happy to throw Colin under the bus since he endorsed Obama.

If the current Republican party thought it would help their chances they'd throw anyone under the bus. Women and children first.
Good thing the Dems would never do it. Hell, Obama didn't even go after Rummy and Cheney for Iraq.

Hillary won this debate although -- mentioned -- Bernie is growing on me.
Bernie's best line was defending being an Independent candidate for much of his tenure. Hillary's was...everything else.

I noticed that Hillary changed her tactics last night and tried to get as close to Bernies positions as possible. That was something Bush did in his debates with Gore in 2000. Of course all that went by the boards as soon as he got in office and Hillary will do the same. It's patently absurd to even suggest that she can take all those millions from the corporations and not do their bidding. That's like suggesting a drug addict is not going to do what his pusher tells him to.
I think this article gives a pretty good analysis of what she did in the debate.

When you look at who the businesses are giving money to, that effectively tells you who they believe will be elected. It happens on both sides, and in proportion to who is the most electable. Smart money gets the most bang when it lines the pockets of the winner.

Bernie's a wild card in that otherwise valid scenario. Big corporate donors don't want him anywhere near the White House and, in any event, I doubt that he'd accept their contributions. (He returned one from Pharma Bro.)
Trump's a bit the same way. He's viewed as "undependable" by corporate America, too much of a loose cannon. Plus, he doesn't actually need their money.

FWIW, that's not holding true entirely this time. Bush3 probably had the biggest war chest and now seems to be history. Walker had the Koch billions behind him and could not get out of the gate. Hillary raised a lot of money too and barely can stay ahead of Sanders now. In the general election both sides will be well heeled.
